Married Again? Divorced … But God!

Are you wondering if you could reconcile with your husband? Is it still possible to save your marriage? I believe it could happen for you! We’ve been re-married after divorce for almost 3 years now. Our first marriage lasted 38 years, but one thing led to another and I found myself filing for divorce, believing there was no way to save our marriage. But God!

The story of our divorce and re-marriage is definitely a story of what God has done! Mark 10:27 (NLT) says, “Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.’” After filing for divorce, I was definitely not considering having any kind of contact with my former husband, much less reconciling and then watching God restore our marriage! During this time of separation, God was working in each of our hearts separately.

I was devastated and in that place of despair I turned to God. I found myself coming closer and closer to Him and as I did that, He responded by drawing me even closer to Himself. In the fourth chapter of the book of James, verse 8, James starts the verse by saying, “Come close to God, and God will come close to you.” (NLT) I can testify to the truth of that statement! During that dark time in my life, I clung desperately to God’s word in a way I had never known I could.
